Philo Scholarships

Funding the future.

Proceeds from Philo’s Golf Tournament are used to fund monetary scholarships awarded to Loveland/Berthoud area students who demonstrate financial need in pursuing post high school education.

Applicants must have a career goal and be strongly motivated to complete occupation/vocational training at a two year community college or technical school.

2024 Philo Scholarship Announcement

We are looking for applicants who: 

  • Reside in the geographic Thompson R2-J School District, including Loveland and Berthoud Colorado.

  • Have been accepted into an accredited program that is completed in two years (or less) offering technical, vocational or associate's degrees or certificates for school year 2024-2025. (Please note: four year degree program applications will not be considered.)

  • Are strongly motivated to complete their training.

  • Have demonstrated financial need for a scholarship for tuition. Awards may vary from $500-$3,000 per school year.

 

Interested applicants should:

  • Download the application packet instructions below. (The link to apply is embedded.)

  • Submit the completed application with the required documentation electronically by March 3, 2024 at 11:59pm.

  • Be available for a 15 minute personal interview on March 18-22, 2024 or be willing to prepare video responses to submit by March 18, 2024.

  • Expect to be notified of a scholarship award by mid-May 2024 if you are selected.

Philo (short for Philomathean Club) is one of the longest-serving organizations in Loveland. Our outreach is primarily for women and families. This scholarship money is open to all, regardless of gender or age.

 

Examples of scholarships awarded include (but not limited to) training in careers in health, business, paralegal, cosmetology, automotive repair, retail merchandising, childcare professionals, and police/firefighting professions.  Any scholarship money that is awarded must be used for the following academic school year.  Any funds not used within the following academic school year will be forfeited.
